Finally, the year of January is over!
On this fine first day of February, I’ve got a lot going on.
- I am currently taking care of the leopard gecko that USED to belong to Boy #2 after some neglectful care, a $243 vet pill that he was forced to pay from his money, and multiple infections combined with severe weight loss. At one point the vet didn’t believe that he had any fight left to heal. Thankfully she was proven wrong by this plucky little lizard who refuses to just roll over. And take food or medicine easily, but he will take it eventually.
- The nutty other lacrosse coach dude is an asshole. A stupid asshole. He deliberately yells at the girls and behaves in a manner that makes practice unfun. He talks too much and tries to make things more deep than they need to be for youth players. He also doesn’t exactly know the rules of the sport he’s trying to coach.
- For the first time in four seasons, soccer signups started today and I will not be signing anyone up or signing myself up to coach. I am done with that league and done coaching soccer at this time.
- I am not counting down directly, but we are a little over 6 months from the time Boy #2 will leave for college. I am still excited for him and I know he will love it.
I gave myself a little break from blogging for a few days because I met my goals for January and I was a little burned out yesterday from the gecko situation. I had only planned to take a day off from blogging, but I needed two after the hour I spent at the vet’s office.
I am looking forward to what the month of February will bring. I always have a good feeling about this month, partly because it’s my brithday month! I dig the shorter month as well, because it’s nice to feel like time is moving by more quickly than it does in January.
