The neighborhood facebook group…it doesn’t matter what season it is, or how many times someone has asked the same questions, the group feels like a crazy deja-vu game.

Does anyone know a good landscaper?

Help! I need snow removal! Does anyone have a DEPENDABLE person who is also affordable?

When is the neighborhood (garage sale, Easter Egg hunt, trick or treating, dumpster, meeting)?

I need an electrician NOW! Who is good?

Looking for (furniture, my lost pet, friends, playdates, something creative, information).

Did anyone see (the mailman, the random stranger drinking vodka, this dog or cat, the green car that went slowly down the road, the blue car speeding down the road, this group of loud kids)

New to the neighborhood, hi new neighbors!

I heard gunshots! Or was it fireworks?

The crazy part is that every single neighborhood group I’ve ever seen is just like this. It’s like no one knows how to search previous messages in these groups. And dependable and affordable are sometimes mutually exclusive. You definitely get what you pay for. I feel bad for the guy with the sloped driveway, though, because every year he needs help finding someone to plow his driveway. Most people seem unable to get up his driveway with their plow and it’s too big to shovel.
