Zander's Inside Voice

There’s actually a long list of things I watch repeatedly. For movies, it’s Grease, Dirty Dancing, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Rocketman. I think the common link for these movies that I love watching is that there’s lots of good music. I guess I truly love musicals! For Grease and Dirty Dancing, it takes me back to childhood and great memories.

For TV shows, I don’t generally rewatch a series over and over again, with one notable exception. I love Law and Order SVU. It is, without a doubt, my most favorite show ever. I feel so connected to most of the characters and even the actors too. I will concede that it is a bit formulaic and that sometimes they push off great characters that could’ve done so much more. But I love the story lines for each character that run throughout the entire show, like how Olivia’s mother was a drunk and she never really felt like her mother wanted her. It informs so much of how she handles victims and even her basic detective work through these past 24 seasons.

I can’t mention SVU without also mentioning Elliot Stabler. I do also enjoy Organized Crime, but at the same time I find it way more intense than SVU and I don’t ever see myself repeat-watching the entire series for any reason. Some episodes are great and a little easier to watch. I do love the Richard Wheatley story line in the first two season. I mean, the MFer shoved someone’s head into his aquarium where his pet octopus attacked a guy! What a strange way to torment someone.
